The La Verna Historical Association and the Susanna Dickinson Chapter, National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution are hosting a free Genealogy Seminar on Saturday, September 30, at the La Vernia Church of Christ, 131 Industrial Drive, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The three speakers include Larry Luckett, a San Antonio Sons of the American Revolution Registrar and award-winning genealogical writer, presenting “The Basics of Research,” followed by Marcy Carter-Lovick, a Texas State Regent of the Daughters of the American Revolution, presenting “Troubleshooting Hints,” and then Allen Kosub, a local historian who will share how he researched area family histories. Bring a sack lunch or have lunch on your own from Noon to 1:00 p.m. After lunch, volunteer genealogists will be present to help with research problems until 3:00 p.m. Guests may bring their own family tree for help.
