Searching for descendants of mural photographer
Candelario Alegria was a photographer in Wilson and Bexar Counties in the early 1900s. He captured a beautiful moment in La Vernia’s history when he snapped this image of Chihuahua Street in 1909. His photograph is now the mural on the front of the La Vernia Heritage Museum. We would like to locate his descendants to invite them to enjoy this beautiful image taken by their ancestor. Candelario was married to Isabelle. They lived on South San Marcos street in San Antonio, Texas. They had a son, Jose. Jose’s daughter is Lydia Isabel Alegria. Jose’s son is Joe Luis Alegria, Jr. who married Dora. If you know any of the descendants of Candelario Alegria, please let them know we would love to invite them to La Vernia to see the work of their ancestor.
